We have a 1993 Taurus wagon 38 it would not go into park but now the shifter seems disconnected and will not shift at all how do you fix it? |

It is possible that the pivot linkage within the column has broken. I worked on a Ford the other day with a similar problem and that is what it was. The shifter was real loose and seemed unhooked. The least expensive way to fix this is to buy a entire column from a salvage yard minus the airbag. (Reuse your airbag) I usually pay about 75.00 for a used column which includes everything you need.
