I am 40 something years old, originally from the Atlantic coast and love the water (salt that is!) I am transgendered (which makes me a natural as a supervisor for the Transgender topic) and have known since I was 4. I have a very small family and 2 children plus 3 four footed ones. We all presently live in a 1100 sq ft house in the Southeastern U.S. where both my spouse and I work as computer geeks. My life has it's ups and downs (whose doesn't?) but mostly it is a life worth living and I am grateful to God (her or him) for it; I don't go to church anymore but I still study the Bible and am still a strong believer in the Gospel of Christ.
All through junior high and high school (that's dating me, no middle school) I planned on being a Physicist - I wasn't sure whether private industry or government, I just knew I wanted to work on the mysteries of the universe, elementary particle physics or astrophysics. Due to constraints on money and untreated ADD, I never made it there, but I did end up getting a job repairing PCs and Macs then moving on to programming and then LAN administration. Physics is still a love of mine (see my contributions in Science) but I've grown to add learning to play musical instruments (flute, cello, violin) and have really worked on my art skills (I still get really frustrated with water color, I can't control it and that really bugs me.)
Finding and helping at WikiAnswers has been fun, frustrating and educational for me - I never knew there were so many people asking so many different questions (or so many asking the same questions.) My biggest problem is with religious bigots: those who think they know it all and only they have the right answer. BWAHAHAH. Life and religion are gray - there's so much we don't know and so much we can't know that anyone proclaiming they have ALL the answers is crackers/whacko/nuts! In general I only answer things I know very well (have lived them or studied them in detail) so don't expect wild off the wall answers, but I can be prolific when the ADD takes over. I hope to help others as much as I can, as kindly as I can and look forward to seeing WikiAnswers grow and meet more and more needs of internet users.
