In some cases a man can love a woman and have no alternative but to walk away from her. There are many reasons. Religion can be one, plus cultural differences. Kate Hepburn and Spencer Tracy were very much in love, but he was Catholic and couldn't get a divorce so they were never married, but had an affair until he passed away. East Indian and Asian Cultures revere their men high (women lower) and the parents prefer the young men marry within their own race/culture.

There is also the fact this man you are talking about could be married, or he has a job that requires a lot of his time and possibly could have been married before and divorced because of the long hours he had to work.

Then again, this guy may not know the meaning of love and uses women at their expense and his pleasure. Unless you ask his reasoning for this decision and he still refuses to tell the truth then you will have to walk away.
