The question, "How much does sugar cost?" is a wide-open sort of question.

What sort of sugar do you mean? There are sugars made from cane, beets, and tree sap syrup that I can think of right off-hand. Then those sugars can be made into brown sugar, powdered sugar, liquid sugar, etc.

I will stick to the simple question and a simple answer. I pay just about $2.00 American for a five-pound bag of generic pure cane sugar. I live in Central Alabama, which is in the Southeastern United States. The price varies from state to state.
