How do you use the word equivocate in a sentence?

[Edit]

"Equivocate" means to say something but not to express any opinion. So you could say, "Jen asked Ben what he thought of her layer cake; he thought it was nasty, but he couldn't tell her that - and he didn't want to lie, so he had to equivocate."
