Can you use a fluorescent lamp with a dimmer switch? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Yes, but it will be dimmable only if it is one of the latest types which were designed to work properly with a dimmer control. These lamps were not available until about 2007.
If the information on the compact fluorescent lamp (or printed on its box) does not actually state "Dimmable" or "Suitable for use with a dimmer" then the lamp probably won't work as you expected: it will come on but will stay bright when you turn down the dimmer control.
