There is a concern that tin roofs may produce an unbearable noise during the heavy rain inside the building. This is true, this would happen if your bedroom is in the attic and your attic ceiling doesn't have a noise isolation.

Asphalt roofs are more silent than tin roofs but still you would need a noise suppression material.

In general both materials and durable and long lasting. Building and construction costs for both materials should be similar.
