Are there any Bible verses about getting tattoos? In: The Bible [Edit categories] |
[Edit] |
Yes, under God's various laws in Leviticus 19
Leviticus 19:28 Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
but ... here's where the controversy sets in. It was talking about pagan rituals at that time. I would recommend reading the whole chapter. It also says not to cut your hair, or trim your beard. It says not to wear clothes made from different types of fabric, as well as not to eat meat with blood still in it. So, the argument is, do these laws still apply to today? I would never try to sway a person one way or the other. Search your heart, read the chapter, make your own decision.
