ON THE TERM 'Prehistoric'

all animals are prehistoric, except the animals people have created through genetic splicing or selective breeding. the term 'prehistoric' is from anthropology. its' used to describe something that came from a culture that existed before people started keeping records. 'prehisoric' doesn't really have a meaning in biological science. just about every animal you see is 'prehistoric'. prehistoric animals would include every animal that originated before humans started writing things down. recorded history only goes back about 5000 or 6000 years, so even modern humans are prehistoric.
